Publication of Special Issues

Publication of Special Issues for the Promotion of WBC2024, Daegu, Korea

Dear Colleagues, The World Biomaterials Congress (WBC2024) in Daegu, Korea, is the 12th Congress event that has been taking place every 4 years since the 1st World Biomaterials Congress (WBC) in Vienna, Austria. The event gathers in-person worldwide biomaterialists from the diverse academies and the industry, presenting and sharing new ideas and networking as well as visiting the industrial exhibitions.

Recently, COVID-19 altered our lives and the way of working worldwide and activating online meetings. These online meetings have made difficult in-person scientific and social activities that are important to the biomaterials researchers and industries. It is time for the biomaterials society to resume its scientific and social events here in WBC2024. To foster scientific activities, we designed the WBC2024 special issues here.

WBC2024 committee invite 4 journals for special issues such as Biomaterials Research, Biomaterials Science, J of Biomedical Materials Part A, and Regenerative Biomaterials with their specific topics. The guest editors of each journal consist of 2 scientists from both the WBC2024 side and the journal side. Detailed information is as below in a table.

The journals will invite the authors who present their research in the WBC2024, and manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline designated by each journal. All submissions, processing, and publication decisions follow the policies of the journal. Accepted papers will be published and listed together on the special issue websites of the journals. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on each journal's website.

Thank you for all the contributing authors to the journals and all the WBC2024-participating scientists for your outstanding researches in biomaterials societies. Your contributions will lead the future ways for biomaterials sciences and engineering. Welcome to Daegu, Korea, and see you in WBC2024!
